Losi 2.4 range problems..Help

I have a stock 2.4 that has crap range. It goes 25-30 yards and cuts out. I tried using new alkiline batteres over my Nimh rechargables and it didnt help. I tried bending the RX antenna strait up and run it w/o the body. Didnt help. I called Horizan and they said its normally the TX. So they are sending me a new TX. Has anyone else had this issue? Anyone tried a different TX or had horizan replace w/ a new TX and it fixed the problem? Im just wondering. I wont hunt down a replacement if the new TX will fix this. But the issue has to be the tx or rx. But he just assumed the TX. But IMO its a 50/50 thing. Any input would be great.
Thanks for reading and any help you could offer.

Spektrum tx's will bind will the losi rx. Do you know anyone that has a spektrum tx you could try?? Maybe at a local track.

That at least will tell you if its the tx for sure

Have you tried running in a different location? I'd try that first to rule out environmental interference. 2.4ghz phones and newer wireless routers can wreak havok on RC radio systems.

Actually no. And I was running it at Myrtle Beach right at the ocean front with resorts and hotels with WiFi everywhere. But Horizan sent me a brand new transmitter when I called them. They where vey cool! I told them the radio was several months old and was only used in a crawler so the range was never really noticed as you kinda stay with the truck. But I called them on Wed 4/20 and got home from the beach last night( 4/23) at 4AM and it arrived in Fridays mail! That was awsome! +1 for Horizan there!
When the rain stops I'll test it out and see where Im at with it.
