2.4 question??
hello,
im getting back into the rc game, and ive noticed im the only guy on the drivers stand that has a 4' antenna sticking out of their radio. lol. Anyways, i use an original Kopropo Mars edition transmitter, i was wondering if the new 2.4 modules will work with my radio? Ive seen that they make a newer edition of the mars radio that is 2.4 and comes with a reciever and module. But id rather not buy a radio right now, there are other things im catching up on..brushless, lipos etc...anyways if anyone knows if the new modules will work or not please chim in and let me know. thanks! |

But to tell you the truth don't feel to bad if your the only guy running FM there is no problem with the FM and there is no sense switching to 2.4 you don't need to worry about anyone else on your FM channel # since you are the only one racing with FM... I say stick with it now that almost all are running 2.4 the FM is just as good never have to worry about conflicting frequancies... I seen some national champ racing and i started laughing they showed the drivers stand and a lot of drivers still ran the FM antenna sticking out radios so if it's still good for the pros you should be just fine.
If you really want to go Spektrum, PM me as I can get you this for real cheap. http://www.spektrumrc.com/Products/D...ProdId=SPM1003 I no longer have a use for it. |
if you're the only one running regular FM there's really no reason to switch.
2.4GHz radios are FM radios as well, they just choose a channel when you turn them on so there's no frequency conflict so you won't really benefit by switching. |
Thanks for the help guys, i think i will just upgrade to some rechargable batteries for it, and keep the FM. I have no radio problems ever. And thus far have not had any frequency issues either. Also i have 10 recievers, and probably 30 crystals for this radio, so ill leave it alone. thanks again guys

Check out the low self discharge type NiMh rechargeable AAs like Sanyo Eneloops or HK's Turnigy LSDs. They beat ordinary NiMh type rechargeable hands down. I don't use the ordinary ones any more. |
Do you have a link or something i could check out?

Here's the Eneloops - sometimes you can find them at Costco...I get mine from this guy -
http://www.thomasdistributing.com/NE...ml?frontpage=1 HobbyKing sells one too - read the reviews here too - they discuss both - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=10456 |
