Exponential could someone explaine please

Just wondered if some one could explaine how and what steering exponential does.If anyone has a graph or a link showing one that would be great. I have a rough idea but just need a little help.

Cheers

neg expo slows the steering around center

pos expo speeds the steering around center

same if you use it for throttle

it is useful for:
steering: neg, if you need to make small movements on a long straight
throttle if you have low or high traction, neg for low and pos for high

I prefer linear everything 99% of the time

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but exponential is an adjustible sensitivity of your transmitter output. For example with throttle expo, if you turn it down, it will slow the power to your motor in relation to your trigger input, making the car accelerate more controlably instead of just lighting the tires. The same would go for your steering. Positive expo will give you a quicker initial steering response, and negative would slow it down in relation to your wheel input. Does this help? Maybe sombody smarter than me could explain it a little better, as you can see I have a pumpkin for a head.

Think of it this way.

You can have linear setting. Linear is a straight line graph.

You can have exponential setting. Exponential in RC is just like Exponential in math. You can have two different kinds of Exponential settings. You can adjust with a Concave curve or a Convex curve. That being said, you can adjust such that the rate at which the radio responds to input around zero can be adjusted very small or very grate depending on the curve.
