As the title says, what Radio came before the Futaba 3PK ?
I know there was one that looked very similar.
What features does it ''not'' have, that the 3PK does ?
And does it use the same Tx. Module that the 3Pk does ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Futaba 3PJ was before and the module is the same that plugs into it. You can do a google search about it and compare. Hope this works for you. I have the 3PJ and didn't like the looks of the 3PK so I kept my 3PJ and still use it today but I have a spectrum system plugged into the back.

Nope. 3PJ then 3PK then 4PK.

The 3PJ was Futaba's first fully digital pistol grip radio. Then came the 3PJS which had more models and other small tweaks. The 3PJ has pretty much all the same adjustments as the 3PK, just not as user friendly. The 3PK did introduce HRS mode.

Do any of those use the same Tx. Module as the 3PK ?

Yes, they are the same, the 3PJ plugs in the back and the 3PK plugs in the top. Spectrum system module works on boy too.

My son uses my hand me down 3PJS and it's still a great radio. We have 2, the one he uses with a 75 mHz synth module and the other is actually a spare that's brand new in the box. The difference between the 3PJ and 3PJS is that the 3PJS came with a 1024 PCM RX and the PJ came with a PPM RX in addition to these differences:

I have a FAST module in my 3PJs and it works great. I got the unit from A main Hobbies. Ask about there discount codes .I got $12.50 Knocked off the order and free shipping . I also had a custom radio skin put on an oldie but a goody. I can switch back and forth 2.4GHz for racing F.M.for bashing.

Here is where I got the skin from.http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Futaba-3P...item3f0051ebb2
My radio was the template for the skin. I sent it in to Darkside and now they have them for the older radios.
