Default Looks like Tower is jumping into the "cheap" Chinese chargers

Isn't this the same as the imax/GT/etc chargers? http://www.towerhobbies.com/products...ytm1001_e.html

Looks like the $42 Thunder AC/DC charger to me. Also looks like 20 other re-brandings of this same charger.

Yep, that it is. I still haven't bought one, big surprise. I just want a reasonably priced ac/dc not plagued with quality issues with a warranty. I guess you really need to spend $100 to find one. It doesn't help that I'm ignorant when it comes to lipos and I'm gunshy after reading about all the proper methods of dealing with them.

I recommend the Thunder AC6. Its exactly the same as a $200 orion charger for $60. Had mine over a year, works perfectly.

Redlinz, don't know what to tell you, but maybe you're better off with the AMain version. That extra cost buys you some support/warranty coverage if its needed.

Def another Thunder AC6....

Amain has another new charger in teh lineup too, but its DC - copy of the Accucel-6 charger -

Yea, I was about to go AC6 until I went to Hobbypartz's forum and saw thread after thread on AC6 issues. Seems like a recent batch of them or something. I'd buy a DC charger as long as it has an AC hook up option. I've been trying to find info/feedback on the Dynam Doublepower that Hobbypartz sells.

Same here, been running an AC6 for over a year and never had a single issue out of it.

Well, it must be a bad recent batch. Check out www.rcdiscuss.com under hobbypartz support thread towards the bottom.

I've been involved with two bad AC6s here, but they've taken care of both in spite of how their 'warranty' reads.
