ok so i have a traxxus 6 cell 1500mah pack and a venom 6 cell 3000mah pack

NEED MORE POWER

can i take 2 cells from the traxxas 1500mah pack and put them in parralel to make a 3000mah so

two batts make 3000mah(like one cell)
now add that 2 cell 3000mah combo in series into the 6 cell venom 3000mah pack

did i just add a 3000mah cell technically even tho there are 8 cells becouse 2 are in parrelel will it act as one 3000mah cell and drain with the rest of the 3000's equally?

........i know i CANT just add 1500mah cells in series to the 3000's thats why i want to parrelel 2 and then add into series

Good God why ?? Just go Lipo and you can avoid all that mumbo jumbo. Is there a reason you haven't gone to lipo ??

lipo battery plus charger would be needed thats expensive

i have a nimh charger only goes to 7cell tho :(

i also only have 6 cell batts so eaither way im in shit luck

so why not destroy some shitty batterys for the test of making a decent battery

as for investing in batterys i would need a new nimh charger to chage bigger cell packs ne way.......

where is the best deal for lipo combos batts n charger dont want ne thing tooooo cheap need good run time and power and a ncie charger


but really could i make that pack without a explosion and would the pack last somewhat decent lifetime i do expect the 300mah to b like 15000mah over time or the 1500 just die completly but this is for fun for now cousl i do it and have a super cell pack for a week or two befor its ruined

Technically yes you can hook them up the way you discribed in your original message.

And +1 on getting a Lipo (try hobby king), and a new charger ($40 EBay, or hobbyking).

Ahhh, the age old money problem. Boy do I understand that one. The figures Shawn gave are legit. Best way to go when you can. Depending on how much you use the truck , the lipo situation will be less expensive in the long run. If it weren't for trading stuff I'd be out of the hobby due to no job right now so I sure understand your situation.

I'm not a truck guy so I'll leave that for someone else to help with. In touring cars we run all 2 cell and some folks like big C ratings and mah. Me, I use good old Zippy 4000mah, 2s, 25-30C hard case. I know the truck folks seem to go pretty big in mah and C rating but remember that starts eating into the checkbook. Mo Power=Mo Money !! :D

heres what i have done

venom 6cell 3000mah nimh pack

2 traxxas 1500mah nimh cells solderd together in parrallel

traxxas 2 cell parrallel "pack" is 1.2v 3000mah

traxxas 2 cell is in series with venom 3000mah


so technically i made a traxxas 2 cell pack 3000mah out of 2 1500mah batteries

then that being in series with venom made a 8.4v 3000mah pack

however on my charger it shows it being a 9-10v it has even flashed 11v lil odd but it is charging and isnt erroring out....sooooooooo

did i do it?

i dont know

i put it in the car real fast with that small charge and it revs up real fast then dies out then you can do it again so i think it needed charge

so its charging

ill let you know what happens after a full charge
