LRP PS And iCharger 106B+
Hey guys, Just sold my old charger, Looking to get a new one, Curently im running Reedy 5500mah 2S LiPo's. I have 2 questions.
One, is an icharger a good choice for what im using it for? or is their a better option. ( I was using a Multiplex before, Looking at the new protek 65 but it doesnt seem to be an upgrade from what i had before) And two will my LRP 14Amp 13.8v Power supply handle the charger? Any help would be great! Thanks! |
Ichargers are well priced and work very well
Decide which model you need and pick a power supply to match Your LRP supply will allow you to charge up to 150 watts or so Cheers |
You need to charge at 5.5amps (1C rate), so charger should have a minimum 10amps charge rate. The power required for a 2S is only 46watts and your PS can easily handle that.
106b will do what you require. |
the 106b is what i was thinking of using, just wasnt sure if my LRP Power supply would handle it... But I didnt even think that the 2s will only use about 50 watts..
Thanks!! |
5.5amps x 8.4v = 46.2watts - thats all.
The power in charging 2S doesn't start to mount up until you start charging at higher charge C rates, 2C (11amps) - 92watts, 3C (16.5amps) - 139watts, 4C (22amps) -185watts and 5C (27.5amps) - 231watts. Your lipos have to be rated for the higher charge C rates though.I don't beleive Reedy is into higher C rate charging though. |
