Well, the R-1 conversion has a problem. Something in the module or radio has power all the time & draws on the battery even with the switch off. Also when I put my ear closs to the module with the switch on, there's a high pitch "whine" coming from it.
Only way I know to fix the problem is to pull the module out at the end of the day & leave it out.
That's a miner pain to have to put up with when the system works as good as it does.

Don't have this problem with the Ko propos.... sure you have the wires hooked up correctly?
Maybe some of the conector prongs leave the power on all the time when the radio is off and maybe others on the connector shut on in off with the radio and you just hooked it up to a power source that is on all the time?

I would check all the pins with a volt meter while turning on and off the radios switch and see if you can find another spot with power that works bu the radios switch.

reptile, I would like to see step by step details on the Helios. I have this radio and would like to upgrade. How does the low/high speed switch come into play? which setting?

Please post all the details on this mod.

still trying to get this to work with the Eurus. set everything up like in the pictures also with 12k resistor. I will get a glitchy response for maybe 2 seconds on the rx, then it stops responding.

putting the module back into the FSgt3, it works fine.

any differences for the EURUS?

In the Eurus section in this board i read that it is backwards and won't work with moduals that work with the ex10... so maybe you need to find out what pins are what on your radio top get it to work because if wired like shown for older KO radios it won't work because the urus don't work with the older ko moduls.

I've found the + and - pins
there are 3 pins left. i'm guessing one is the PPM. would it be ok to try each one? i wouldnt want to short circuit or fry anything

Hi i think you could do that because they only use 3 contacts on the radio on my ko propos out of all the prongs sticking out. + & - and one pin should be a signal.

Well, I finally got a 11.1v lipo for my R-1. Two weeks ago nimh batteries drained down to 9.9 volt in one race afternoon. So since I can't find why the GT3 module puts a constant drain on the battery even when off, I decided to get the lipo. I got a Venom 3000 pack that fit perfectly in the R-1 with no modification required. I did have to change the plug though. I set my charger to cut off at 12 volts.
Well, I ran it today. And at the end of the day, it was still reading 11.9 to 12 volts. So at the end of the day, I pull the module out & store it in the radio case with my R-1.
I may not have to charge it again this season.

Hi i dont know may want to call ko and ask them what pins are + - and signal for your radio

Because I know for sure that the ex10 and mars and ex1 moduls KO sells are not compatable with the eurus see there site.

Thumbs up

Hi everyone,

I've just confirmed that with the FlySky FS-TM002 module together with the 12Kohm resistor over V+ and PPM pins, it works beatifully with the Ko Propo EX-10 Helios transmitter!
It's just as simple as in the very first picture, but added resistor.

Now I just need to find a way to get the steering wheel to function. Something is hosed in my transmitter and I can't find out what it is...
It's not the FlySky module hack though, since the previous owner suspected this error and I've adjusted steering trim to verify functionality with good result.
