Spektrum sr310 receiver won’t enter bind mode
Hey everyone,
I’ve been having some troubles with my HobbyZone EXC 4 x 4 torment rc car. The spektrum SR310 receiver won’t enter bind mode. I bought an OC DAY brushless motor with an ESC some time ago and have had no troubles up until now. I have a homemade bind plug(I’m assuming that a real one might fix the problem) that has worked before when I was binding the receiver to the transmitter. But now when I plug in the blind plug, turn the car on, and then plug the ESC servo plug into the receiver, it’s like it’s not even receiving power. I used a voltmeter to check if the ESC was putting out power to the servo plug, and it says that it’s putting out 5.78 volts. So then I used the voltmeter to check the power output of the STR plug spot on the receiver, and the voltmeter says that it is putting out 5.78 volts. So I know the receiver is getting power, but no light will turn on, and it won’t enter bind mode. I’m at a loss for what to do, and I appreciate all the help I can get.
Thanks

Which pins are you shorting together? IIRC it should be outer and inner pins with middle pin open.
Does the receiver light up without the bind plug in?

Sounds like the receiver is dead to me. If your radio can do DSM2, you can get a knock-off SR3100 on eBay for about $12.

I think it's more helpful to let a guy know what options are available (when he is clearly on a budget), and let him make the decision on what to spend his money on. I run $100 receivers in some of my cars, and $10 receivers in some of them.

Just as a thought, there is a used SR300 for sale right now:
For Sale: Spektrum SR300 Sport Surface Receiver
It does sound like the receiver may be done, but it wouldn't hurt to get a used receiver inexpensively to verify.
