Sorry to post for a old thread.

I need your help to understand how to charge AA and AAA with my charger.
My question it self may not be making sense...
I searched quite bit but never had any good clue.
Thanks in advance.

Charger: Venom Pro Charger
Batteries: AAA = Energizer 850mah 1.2V / AA = Energizer 2300mah 1.2V

My understanding: To Charge 4 AA or AAA in series
For AAA:
(850x4)=3400
3.4 x 0.2C = 0.68a = Charge Amp
End Voltage = 1.2 x 4 = 4.8

For AAA:
(2300x4)=9200
9.2 x 0.2C = 1.84a = Charge Amp
End Voltage = 1.2 x 4 = 4.8

Not quite right mate

You dont add capacity in series, it stays the same regardless of the number of cells

850 mah AAA
1c charge rate will be 0.85 amps
1/5c charge rate will be 0.17 amps

2300mah AA
1c charge rate will be 2.3 amps
1/5c charge rate will be 0.46 amps

A nimh cell will peak at around 1.45v

4 cells in series will peak at around 5.8v

Cheers

I see!
Thanks for your advice!

One more quick question.

is 1/5C charge adequate for these Enagizer NiMh AA and AAAs?

I use AA for RC contoroler(Spektram DX2X) and AAA for Kyosho MIniZ.

Depends on the charger you are using

If you use a dedicated slot / cell charger you can use higher rates

Most will handle up to a 1/2c charge rate

The lower the rate the better for the batteries

1/5c will be fine

If you want decent Nimh cells grab yourself some Sanyo Eneloop LSD (Low Self Discharge)

Cheers

I don't know if anyone are actually gona read this but, when I'm using my venom pro plus charger on the eneloops, why does it get full at around 1000mah while charged at 0.2-0.3 amp ?
I have got a proper aaa battery tray with the proper dean plug soldered to to join my lipo charger.
What am I doing wrong ? Or is this normal ?

Are they triple A? I think those are rated at 750 min - 800 typical? If so, since some charge on a nimh will go off into heat, 1000 sounds reasonable, good even. How warm did the cells get?
