Anyone ever use these Lipos???
Looking for the most powerful Lipos for my Revo mini and found these....
http://cgi.ebay.com/TRAXXAS-1-16-VXL...item2c5436383d Specs seem to good to be true!! Anyone use these or know of some others that are comparable or better in performance ratings? |
Iwould prob stick with hobbyparts, or hobbyking.

Great packs, highly reccomended
More punch than any other similar sized pack for the 1/16 cars Cheers |
I dont think hobbyking has any 1/16th sized batteries with the same amount of power. So far I am between these and the maxamps. Much more toward the ebay ones though because I had issues with a $400 set of Maxamps before and they are not as powerful.

They don't - their higher C rated small lipos won't fit unless you back off on the mah. I don't have a prob with the added mah, but I'm not sure you need that much C rating. I've always run my Merv with 20Cs and its been plenty fast. Guess I need to get my recorder out and take a closer look.
You can buy several 2200mak HK 20Cs for the price of one of these. |
They don't look hard cased. Might be an issue in a bash.

I am going to be doing a big block mod soon so thats why I want the most powerful lipos I can find. I dont recall seeing ANY hard case lipos that have much power. Really the battery holders on the car are like a hard case since its such a tight fit they wont be moving around in there. Id think if I hit something hard enough to bust the lipo while its in the holders the whole thing is toast hard cased batteries or not lol.

Agree with Duster
Stock motor / esc only needs 50 amps or so which parallel 20c packs have no problems providing Running a Castle 4600 in mine these packs showed noticeable power gains over the 20c Zippy's Cheers |
I've hit parked cars almost WOT, cartwheeled my merv for what seems length of football field, jumped big air and all with turnigy soft cased lipos. Mine fit tight and don't move, but if yours are loose, use some foam blocks to stop them moving. You don't have to use hard cased lipos in the merv, plenty running soft cased ones.
The lipos are loose in my Flux and I use foam blocks and soft cased lipos in that one too and never had an issue. Its diff deal if you're not running stock motor as far as those lipos initially questioned go. |

Is this the same size pack in the revo Because it doesn't seem that powerful? |

I run these GM99000 LiPo 5400-7.4V 50C Seem pretty powerful to me and quite a few European and world champions. There is a difference in price but you're only ever going to get what you pay for.

I ran a castle 4600 in mine
With the "boost" branded packs power was up 20% or so compared to 20c Zippy's from HK Well worth the dollars Cheers |
I've had to upgrade the plastic drive axles to the stell cvds, but other than that, mine has been solid. A good wheelie bar is almost a must on 3S.
Shame you don't have a data recorder - would be ideal for finding out what that 540 BB would really need. Let you properly size your lipos and avoid wasting money or adding unnecessary weight. |
