castle sidewinder sct package
is anyone using this and how many turns is the castle 1310 3800kv motor it comes with.
|
Motor is based on the Neu 1410/1Y
Its a 1 turn motor with a "Y" winding 4 pole rotor, 12 slot stator Cheers |
Not sure if your ques gets answered in this, but this is the Castle SCT thread -

In rpms it's equivalent to about 10.5. It has more torque than a 540 size 10.5 though, so it's kind of in it's own class. Between a typical 540 and a 550. a 545 ?

Has anyone used this system in a on road 1/10th scale car? Pros and cons?
|
can anyone help me out?

Wouldn't run it in a shaft drive as it has far too much torque. Belt drive you'd gear it high for top speed. |
Sorry. It will be going in a team associated tc3. I have an opportunity to pick one up for $70 and have been wanting to covert it to brushless for a while.
|
Smaller Castle 1406 based motors such as the 4600 / 5700 would be a better choice
3800 would certainly be a handful Cheers |

I would think a shaft is better since it wouldn't stretch?

I think that there will be quite a bit of torque steer to deal with.Even the CM36/4600 was bad about it in my TC4 on 2S. And this motor developes a lot more torque.my 2 cents, good luck.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll just have to pass up on this awesome deal.

Oh well. Picked it up anyways.
