Spektrum SR3500 wont bind

Does anybody have any tricks to get this receiver to bind? I remember going through this about 3 years ago with the same type of receiver, but I cant remember how I eventually got it to bind.

I have the bind plug in the batt port like it says. I'm getting the flashing led, but it never goes solid, indicating its bound.

I've used Spextrum modules and receivers for the past 4 years (KO Radio), and have been 100% satisfied, but this is very frustrating.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Most common issue I've seen is a reversed plug.
Black to the outside if I'm not mistaken.
Make sure the transmitter has a good charge/batteries.
Hold the transmitter back, a couple of feet away.

binding

Actually the bind plug isn't polarised, it's just a loop of wire.
So, it can go in any way.

True of the bind plug itself, please allow me to clarify. I should have specified the plug providing power to the receiver. Battery or ESC lead. I've both seen it first hand and heard of it many times. The led will flash faster.

Step back acouple of feet from the rx before you start the bind on the tx, I run into this in some flight rx and some surface rx's, including my sr3500. When they give me trouble binding I just backup 3-5 feet and press the bind button again. I use dx3s, dx3.0, dx2 and dx6i this has happened and helps with all.
