How to charge this xceed lipo
 

i have a duratrax ice charger and this battery. i plan on gettin more but i have emailed the seller on the charger settings and havent recieved an answer. i supplied a link to the battery below.. any one have experience with them?

That is a 1300mah lipo.
1.3amps would be the 1c charge rate.

Ice charger has no balancer, you need to get a balancer for charging this or any lipo.

You don't NEED a balancer to charge a lipo. Its a good idea to have one, but I charge my starter box battery and that very same lipo all the time without using the balancing feature.

As a matter of fact, that lipo does not have a balance plug anyway.

I assumed the pic in your link which said it may or may not have been of the actual product, wasn't, and your lipo would have one, but if it doesn't, its moot. If you don't have balancing leads, you obviously don't need a balancer.....

If you get other lipos that do have balancing leads, I'd advise you to get one. The safest way to charge a lipo is with a balancer connected since this is the only way the charger can monitor individual cell voltages. There have been at least 2 lipo incidents reported here that could have been prevented if they had been charging with a balancer or a balancing charger.

Yes, you don't absolutely have to balance every time you charge a lipo, but you give up a layer of safety when you don't.
