run your PWM between 5000Hz-9600Hz for stock... the lower the PWM frequency the "punchier" the car will react, BUT you will also increase motor temps..

hope this helps!!!

Check out Mark Symka's 1/12 17.5 setup on the Viper RC website, on the VTX1 page. Maybe gear it down with less timing to start on the safe side.

For me, in spec class I always run the lowest throttle PWM for maximum bottom end, 100% punch and + expo on throttle curve if I feel the need.

I have tried that and it will not pull up for me.

I ran my setup for the 1st time last weekend and was getting pulled in the infield but was comparable on the stright.

78/54 43mm tires with a d3.5 and 12.5 rotor im +15 on timing on the can for 25* over all. I am thinking about going +25 and dropping the pinion to a 50* as i still had plenty of room to get more temp into the motor. I was coming off at 135* after 8 mins. The guys that were pulling me had more punch for sure and i can defiantly use a little more aggressive feel.

I think you're going in the right direction, your rollout is a little high. You'll probably find the D3.5 timed over 20 degrees just makes more heat, the sweet spot seems to be 15-18 degrees in my experience. When I ran the D3.5 in 17.5 pan car, my roll out was usually in the 87 range for an 80ft. straight.

40'X70'... if you go 78/50, that'll bring you to 86.5 rollout, try it at 15 degrees timing and increase 1 degree at a time until you're happy with the straight, watching your temps. With shorter gearing and lower drive frequency it should be a lot punchier for you.

started the day a 75/49 with 5* timing on the can and was way off pace.

when you are saying 15* do you mean on the can or overall? because i am at 15* on the can currently and i am told there is 10* built into the motor already?

15 on the endbell marks. So with 75/49 you were close on gearing at around 88 rollout but probably didn't have enough timing on the motor at 5 degrees.

here is a video of the track and me running. I am the yellow/white car (Rob Jensen) who takes the win for the round. However you can see how much faster the other cars are compared to mine.

Ciao micrors4guy,
i'm racing in touring 13.5 blinky and F1 21.5 blinky, i saw your video and i noted that in the straight the car was faster in the second half part of it, in my opinion it means that your fdr was too long, you should try to reduce the pinion of 1 or 2 tooth and as all the other guys already wrote increase a little more the end bell timing.

Ciao
Max
