Is there a new black edition VTX1?

Also, any specific reason for the VTX1 over the 10 for these classes? Just what they had?

Little lighter weight. In the ARC cars these guys were running is little on the heavy side in its current form so, saving a little with the esc helps.

Depending on motor and physical timing - roll out = 72-78 blinky/64 boosted. Should get you in the ball park.

With the vst 17.5 blinky you can gear for slightly lower roll out and add physical timing. You can actually get around 50 degrees of end bell timing but be sure to check temps. I think I found the best performance around 40-45 degrees and around 70 roll out with the stock rotor.

Pan car just seems slow with the 17.5 but I did not have the timing up enough. Try it again next time at the track. What should my setting be on the speed control also I want to run a vst 21.5 in my tc6 and will need assistance with that also. Is anyone sponsored by Viper running in the northwest asphalts challenge? Thanks in advance.

Trying to cut shrink wrap off of my speedo, I nic'd the on/off switch wires. I wonder if Viper can fix this?

Don't be afraid to crank the end bell timing, 1S is pretty easy on motors. For me, I feel like I'm getting the best out of my 1 /12 - 17.5 motor in blinky when it's coming off at about 130 degrees after 8 minutes.

I don't run 21.5 myself but the local racers that run them in VTA really seem to push end bell timing to the limit. I've seen some ridiculous motor temps at 4.2 FDR! I can tell you that the VST's don't like to see temps past 165 degrees so, be sure to monitor temperature.

I'm sure if you sent it in Viper could replace the ribbon cable, Nick could better answer the question.

Did you cut through the wire or just the insulation?

Thanks Jim. Where can I look at speed control settings? So try to keep temps about 160 or get a fan

I'm running "mod" (10.5 boosted), and I want more brakes.

Rough setup (a couple things might be off by a hair, since I'm doing this from memory).

Car is on the heavy side (~1420-1440g)

Novak Ballistic 10.5
Motor timing at "N" / 30
FDR 6.5

VTX10
8000-25000 30*
15* top speed timing (don't remember rate)

Brake Freq: Tried everything from ~2000-9600
Brake Strength: Tried from 70-100%
Drag brake: tried 0 to 50%
Dynamic brake: tried disabled and 30 max / 15 min / 15000rpm / linear

The power feels fine, good throughout the power band, nice and smooth, and no temp issues. The problem is the brakes just feel really, really weak at high speeds. Anything over about 25% of top speed, and the car barely feels like it slows down at all. Then when the speed comes down, the brakes are suddenly really, really strong. I can use the dynamic brake to smooth out the low speed braking for corner entry, but the real problem is the high speed braking. I have to lift and start braking so early I'm losing a lot of time.

The only idea I have left is to try a higher (number) FDR, but then I'll have to retune the whole power side of the equation.

Anyone have any suggestions?

-Mike
