Wish I had a VTX1... The VTX10R needs a 2s battery to run normal.. I don't have room to fit a booster or receiver pack and I can't add the extra weight or either.. It sucks too because I paid over $250 for the setup and can't even use it.. Nice setup you've got BTW. I like a clean setup.

On the other hand, if Viper is willing to help me out here, I would be forever grateful! I however, don't think they are interested because Ive soldered new wires on already. Lets hope it sells soon so I can use the money and get back to racing..

Sorry you purchased the wrong system, the 1s - 2s difference is stated about as clear as we can make it.

We have a trade in program if you have out of warranty equipment, but don't think the option quite applies in this case.

Its no worries really. I traded the ESC and motor for an F104 and a TC1030.. Ill still hang onto my 17.5 viper motor to keep as a backup but I mostly run Thunder Power now.

Mark Smyka's VTX1 is handling the heat down in FL at the On Road Nats. Hearing track temps are up towards 120F today!!!!!

VTX1 helps propel Mark Smyka to a complete sweep of the 1/12 17.5 class at the ROAR Nationals. TQ's all four rounds of qualifying, wins the first two A Mains to clinch the title.

VTX1 completes the ROAR sweep in Smyka's hands winning both ROAR Nationals in the 17.5 class. Small stance, no booster needed, easily programmed, capable to run spec or modified classes, ProGauge for quick adjustments -- all items that helped Mark win 2 National Championships, a win at Snowbirds (F1), A Main finishes at IIC and Snowbirds.

Pretty potent little device to run on road spec classes..... and more......

No9 your post is very confusing one time you say it wont calibrate then next you say it will ? are you talking about two different speedos ? also when you pust the button to calibrate you hear the noise and pull full throttle do you push the button again to save the setting ?

Power on speedo by holding for three seconds and it will go into calibration mode. Hold full throttle, press button. Hold full brake, press button again. ESC will power cycle and you should be good to go.

Where exactly in this procedure are you having the "pull full throttle and nothing happens" problem? The motor will not receive power during calibration, if that is what you are referring to?

Also, make sure your throttle and brake are at 100% when doing the above. I had an issue at carpet nats that Mark (Smyka) had to help me with where I had my throttle set to 100 (I had forgotten that max is 150 on KO) and the speedo wouldn't calibrate. Seemed like it wouldn't find neutral correctly.

If you also ever have an issue where your speedo won't turn off when you hold down the button, you should recalibrate the speedo to your radio and it should fix the problem.

One thing we have seen is that if the system can not find the neutral point on the radio, it will have a hard time calibrating. Couple of things to try (in no order):
- re-bind TX and RX
- select different model on radio
- verify end points at 100 for throttle and brake (0 expo)
- move throttle trim few clicks up or down

VTX1 Black Edition helps propel 2 drivers into the 13.5 Expert Stock A-Main @ 2013 Reedy Race of Champions. ESC was powerful and smooth throughout the whole run. Once the new motors become available and ROAR approved, we have room for more quicker laptimes. Keeps getting better by the day!!
