Will there be any new setups sheets coming out for 12th scale?

A55 was available during IIC however A30 was used, is a30 a better software version for 12th scale blinky/mod?

Congratulations Max!!!!!!!!!!

MrTyson - at the time of IIC, we used a30 because we had a better data base of set up information with it. Mark Smyka used a55 to win ROAR Nats and Snowbirds -- we have been using a55 since right after IIC when we had more time to test.

PM me your email address and I will send you what Mark ran at the Nats-- which was pretty close to Snowbirds if I remember. So it should be a good benchmark.

So what are the trade-offs between the VTX10R and VTX10R-BE?

I'm looking around for an ESC to run modified touring on carpet and asphalt. Asphalt track temps will get up around 120*F, so it needs to handle heat.

From what I can tell reading Viper's site, the BE has a bit more heat dissipation, is heavier, stronger BEC (how much stronger, does it matter for TC?), and the remote cap setup. I actually prefer the nice clean packaging of the cap on top of the ESC, though. My car also tends to be heavy, so the extra weight of the BE isn't terribly appealing.

Also, if running a 4.5-5.5 motor in the heat, does either one need a cooling fan?

Mike, the Black Edition esc's have slightly stronger BEC circuit. We actually designed the new speed control and then when back and updated the regular VTX10 with some of the stuff we learned. They are pretty close - Black Edition maybe 5% stronger BEC.

Generally we say use the BE for that low of a turn motor, but the 10R is capable. We have seen drivers use fans on the motors, and speed controls - so do it because they have a better level of comfort knowing its there.

I bought a vtx10r last week. After installing it in a 1/12th scale I realized that its for 2-3s. Can I use a lipo booster and make it work for the 1s. Thanks

apologies, wasn't notified of the post, I missed it. I have to be honest with you because we have the VTX1, designed for 1s, I don't know that its ever been tried. Please post if you did it.

Got a PM from our friend mtaddel, stating that he ran in the first round of the Italian AMSCI championship, all weekend it rained at the event. Max was using our original VTX10 - orange case (2 years old, he noted) and had no issues at all, even with some parts of the track with water levels over half the esc/chassis level. The VTX10 held up with no issues at all!!! Unfortunately, so car parts didn't do as well. But he Qualified 4th and Finished 7th!!!!

Thanks for the info Max!!!!

Just received my Viper vtx10r-be and vst21.5T, must say i'm very impressed with the quality of the overall product, love the pre-soldered wires on the esc and how incredibly clean it is, love the notches on the motor for the wires. I must say I haven't seen such good quality in a long time, I was highly recommended to try Viper electronics.

Ciao Mike,

i must say tnks to your good company and excellent products!!!, it clearly demonstrate that also if i'm using a 2 years old vtx10r its performance are still at the top!!! So unfortunally for you i'll continue to use my loved esc until it will not blow up, and i hope it'll run still for many years !!!!
I remember when your company opened this tread in such forum and i sent you a pm asking how to purchase a vtx10r directly from you as here in Europe there wasn't a dealer!!! and also my friend didn't recomend such purchase as nobody know Viper, BUT never done a better decision

Tnks to all Viper crew!!!!!

Ciao

Thanks Max!!!

Not to mention that we also had other drivers in the A Main at your event using Viper!!!

I received some information that our products are doing very well in Asia, in fact even running well with motors that are causing others issues!!! So we continue to move in the right direction!!!!

Come get your VTX10R Black Edition setup! Someone out there will have more use then I will. No need for such a nice setup to collect dust. Make me a offer and you too can experience the joy that is Viper.

Someone may find something familiar in this picture.

Ya know...that'll fit down on the chassis plate just fine with the Viper ESC. That's how my Xti with a VTX1 is setup.
