So far we've got Pete, me, Alvin, and Patrick in my CRV. If you guys want to get real cozy we could probably put 5 people in that thing I think you'll have to get consent from Pat and Alvin though.

Mini,

What motors are in stock and ready for sale? Not just spec either, but I would like to know those as well.

Steve

Well I made plans to go to Mt. Vernon tomorrow w/Ritchie & Donny but hopefully real soon, I can get to TZ.

Beginning in Jan, I won't be at the Hangar anymore (due to a new job) so I have to at least get some stick time in somewhere.

Thought you guys wondering about the VST 17.5's should know one of our local racers is running one in stock sedan and his fast lap is 2 tenths quicker than the next fastest guy. Braaap!

These results were in Xray T3 sedans with 8.9 FDR And like I said before, these are fragile prototypes of the low current version. I can safely say that the Vtraxx10R production speed controls will be amazing and set new standards for brushless racing.

This motor setup was WAY too much for our track, normally I prefer to run a VST 6.5 unboosted and Weylin a VST 7.5 with mild boost.

You asked whether these speed controls will be smooth enough for the low turn motors. I will answer with a resounding yes. I ran mine setup with a linear throttle profile (this is always how I like to run my speedos), but tried the lower and smoother power profiles via setup with my Viper Pro Gauge. The throttle feel was not for me, but you can definitely tune the bottom end to be super soft.

We will be testing again Saturday at Timezone (the carpet nats '11 track), one more suited to lower turn motors. I'll post more results after that.

P.S. I'll talk to Weylin and see about getting some product videos up on here to. Things like the Pro Gauge speedo setting in action and motors on the track. You really can't apprieciate how cool all this stuff is until you see it in action.
Thanks for the write up Peter, good to see that you guys actually care about the modified guys. Some brands (Tekin) could care less about modified

Viper 17.5 report.

ran brand 'a' motor in practice and first heat to set a base geared at 3.52 using a SP lpf 2.0 esc on 508 software spec no timing.

fast lap of 9.33 over all 37 laps at 6.08.14

the only change made to the car was dropping in the viper 17.5 timing set at 45 degrees

fast lap of 9.07 over all 38 laps at 6.03.09, it was a better run overall, less mistakes, but power so super smooth and it pulled outta the hole great. high temp was 174 after 6 minutes with no fan.

round three, dropped 2 teeth, and turned the timing down to 38 degrees or there abouts.

fast lap of 9.1 over all 37 laps at 6.00.96 checked up quite a bit this run for traffic, overall time not a good marker. temped at 172 without a fan, looking at temps would say gearing and timing can still be tweaked for heat but very much in the ball park, adding a fan will drop temps and it will be money,

thinking about getting one, you will not be disappointed.

Sound good! Most of the spec motors out don't have good mid band power. You pic punch or top end

The power band is smooth and the torque is good. Gearing 1-2 teeth higher made a big difference in the motors behavior. The temps come off at 145 c everytime (6minute run on high bite asphalt) Im loving these motors and can't wait to try 17.5 boosted

Welcome to the team Korey, it should be a year with Team Viper 2011

Eric if/when you get a 17.5 to test would you be open to letting me test with it for an hour or two? I'm going to try my hand at 17.5 boosted sometime in the future, maybe after the new year at WCRC.

I have a Ballistic 17.5 that I would like to compare it to.

Thanks for all your help at the track, today I hit 13.9 fast lap with my Tamiya 416 world / 21.5 Setup...

Yes we have all option rotors arriving tomorrow - 12.00mm, 12.30mm, 12.50mm, 12.50mm high torque, 12.80mm. For 1s I recommend either the 12.00 or the 12.30

We are working on that now. They should be listed as ROAR limited timing profile legal by the time they're available.
