Ciao to all,

last sunday raced for the first time vtx10r with a30 firmware, with hobbywing 10,5 motor, very very impressive performance, fast car but with a super smooth accelleration, still to find the sweet spot with the brake next week i'll do some test in order to find the good brake setup.

Hi guys,

On my tc with vtx10 and vst 13.5 motor (using profile 7) the motor has no definitive kick into boost , and at full throttle it kinda pauses and starts rapidly , seems like its struggling to put out the power that the Esc is giving..

I have had motor issues before and I was told that the motor will die eventually if you have burnt it...

So is the motor fried? And if it is the Esc, how would I tell if it is?

Narcotics

are you running 0 Degree timing on the motor ? or any ?
If so set it back to 0 Degrees and try again.

My motors didn't like the boost with mechanical timing on the motor.
Also Gearing make sure you on a comfortable gearing, and not geared to the moon.

Profile 7 should get you pretty close. I run 13.5 boosted in my TC on a tight carpet track, with great success. My setup sheet is on the viper-rc.com site: http://viper-rc.com/forums/index.php...4.0;attach=102 (BTW, you have to register to see attachments)

If you run on a large track, you can start there but gear up a couple of teeth and stretch out the Finish acceleration to get better mid-range (check temp after 2 minutes).
Timing on the motor could be an issue. Start around the neutral mark, and if you need more bottom end start advancing it and watch your temp.

Thanks for your help dude
But my problem is that the motor was
Working fine and VERY fast until I had a very hot run on a very hot day and then damaged the rotor (scratches) and the sensor board (fixed )
Which was the last time I went for a practice . When I arrived at the track and gave my car a test on the car stand , I noticed the speed was substantially lower than usual. And by the end of my 2 hour practice , it had the problems I explained above . So I had it working perfectly and now it isnt. Do
You think it is the motor ? Should I get a new one?
And if I do get a new motor , can it be any brand?

7.2 to 7.7 FDR, for best punch on a small technical carpet track (TC 13.5 boosted).

I used the setting from rc Pete that he had listed and it worked just fine for me. I have an Xray T3 2011 with a Speedpassion v3 13.5 motor and was geared at 7.47 my motor never temped beyond 160. I felt that the car was boosting a little to late down the straight and some of the short shoots. I have to figure out on this track how to get the boost to come in a little sooner. I felt that once the boost kicked in I was at the point where you would let off to approach the entry to the turn, so I would overshoot and push out.

Don't get me wrong, this setting is spot on to start with so your track may differ.

On a bigger track this might be just the setup but I'm new to the viper boost setting as I have been running non boost with my VTX10.

Are you running any physical timing on the can? What firmware version? Just trying to get some info to sort this out... Sounds like too much timing being applied in the midrange possibly.
