Another day testing A30, this time focused on Smart Brake System, one Word - SMART. Sometimes is hard to adjust your drag brake feeling because mainly your motor at a high speed/RPM needs more brake that a low speed/RPM, well now you can get this with the Smart Brake System. Pretty useful on high grip asfalt or carpet racing, but if on the sweet spot works great at any condition. No more stuck or loose, you choose what you want at the speed you desire, pretty usefull for modified low turn racing. According to the Manual:

A Smart Brake System set up example:
We set Trigger RPM at 15000 with Max Brake Strength at 15% and Drag
Brake at 5%. When the throttle is released, the system detects the motor
is at 25000 RPM. The Smart Brake System will kick in with drag brake
strength 15%. When the RPM drops to 15000, the Smart Brake System
will start decreasing motor RPM progressively with drag brake force from
15 (Max Brake Strength) down to 5% (Drag Brake) and this is based on
the Dynamic Curve parameter setting.

At the end of the day i had plenty of power with a great soft feeling and finally a drag brake as desired, gonna keep testing but i think is a great starting point for modified. My setup here under setups menu: http://jorgesimoesrc.pt.vu/

Soon will be testing more Modified Turns and some spec, any question feel free to ask.

Does Viper still have the office in Redmond? I'd rather not pay $27 for a cable if I can just swing by and get the update.

It was suggested that I post some of my info from the viper site here on rctech so here it is.

The Edmonton leg of the WCICS (Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series) is now complete. I did a lot of tweaking with my Viper equipment over the 3 day event. I learned that the SmartBrake function is a valuable tuning aid when set up correctly, also that motor fans are a must to manage motor temps for carpet Touring Car racing. The VTX1 performed well in my WGT car however, I realized during practice that I was running firmware version A25 so I will not be posting setups until I update the speedo and complete further testing in pan car. My 17.5 (blinky) car was on par with the fastest cars in the (largest) class, I would have liked a little more punch off the corners but, excellent straight away speed made up for a lot.
In 13.5 I wasn't running a fan so temps could have been lower but the setup I ran performed well all weekend and was very quick, the VST seemed to handle higher temperatures well.

Final results were as follows: TC 17.5 (blinky) Qualified 7th / finished 2nd - TC 13.5 boosted (Super Stock) Qualified 3rd / finished 4th. My runs in the mains could have been cleaner but, I didn't take the time to adjust my TC6's for very high grip at the end of the event. A couple of traction roll overs and I really had to push hard to gain back positions. All in all, a great weekend of racing and a good showing for Team Viper!

Thanks!

A tad smaller than the LRP but larger than the Tekin...was hoping for a bit smaller but still a pretty good footprint. If I have some money left over after Christmas shopping I'll probably pick one up

Guys, need to honest answers!!

I've been offered a drive which specifies I must use viper products. I'm currently running hobbywing and tekin esc's and trinity and lrp motors.

I race 10.5 and 13.5t boosted tc.

How do the viper products (honestly) compare?
