The Speedo has the same size footprint as the SXX SS, and responds extremely we to changes-not to mention the ease of programming. Hope that helps
thanks! i will give it a try on sunday........i compared mine's to a novak ss..that has lot of torque & a duo 2 that had lots of rpm's
did you have the timing turned up on your viper motor??
& have you try 1 of the tuned rotors??....i have the 12.3 1 but didnt try it yet

the viper vst motors have more torque in them than your duo's and ballistics so yes they need a minimum of 2 teeth bigger on the pinion. but start at 2 teeth and then go from there also dont get the motors hotter than 160 deg. keep them under that temp and they produce the best power .

I based timing on motor temp-but had it cranked all the way up the last time I ran (last night) and it was still coming off the track at a hair over 100deg. These motors are different, as soon as I threw gearing at it it started to run cooler

Thumbs up

Hey Jaybee, Yep, motor temp dropped and got faster, picked up .3 tenths going up a tooth, and the temp dropped to a hair above 100deg with timing cranked all the way up. There's still one more throttle response profile to try, so we'll see how it goes. The Viper motor is currently geared 3 teeth taller than a D3 and Ballistic. The production version of the speedo is going to be even better according to Weylin.

no fair running stuff I can't get.

I think mike was geared at a 3.7 or so with his duo 3

I was geared at a 3.4 with viper, but only with 35 degrees of timing and it came off at 160, I was getting pulled on the straight, so i cranked the timing for the main, but had "tape" issues and pulled it off so I don't have a good second temp reading, but the car was faster.

The Vtrax 10 and 10R are pretty much finished except for the boost timing profiles. I used the Vtrax 10 17.5 non-boost at the Snowbirds and there were no problems. For those of you running 17.5 classes, I would highly recommend using the 12.3 mm rotors to get more rpm. The Viper Team will be finishing up the boost software for the Vtrax10/ 10R/ One very soon. These ESC's will have outstanding quality and performance.

Weylin and I had some bad luck in qualifiers for touring car classes. Steve downs did well in oval. Peter Robinson made it to the a-main in 12th stock and B-main Mod touring. I qualified 13th overall in 12th stock, not bad for not racing on carpet ever Overall a good week of racing and Team Viper was well represented in its first major race
