Where to begin?
 

Hello to all ninjas of the R/C world.

I don't have any knowledge as it is the first time i'm trying to build something. My goal is to build a hovercraft after a research it looks like i can use a Ducted Airplane Fan, a battery an a ESC.

I can understend the airplane fan, the battery and a that a brushless motor needs a ESC to work, i also know that a ESC controls the speed.

But what do i need to make the fan, battery and the ESC work? A R/C transmitter, receiver? both?

Is there a tutorial on how to make those tree work together?

You'll need a radio setup to control it - that is two pieces of equip - the radio, what you will hold in your hand and use to make control input and the receiver in the hovercraft. The rcvr will take the radio signal and translate your input to EDF and servo responses. The esc has a connection to the rcvr as do the servos that'll prob be used to direct/control the air from the ducted fan. The onboard battery will power the EDF as well as the rest of the onboard electronics.

There are ducted fan planes and they do the same type thing you're looking to do. What I don't know is what/how a hovercraft uses the air movement to make it go forward/back and steer, just not familar with one, should be straight forward, just a matter of how it's usually done. Google RC hovercraft and start looking to see what others have done. There appears to be a lot out there.

Can we use TX-2B and RX-2B couple for the first project? :)

Over here, we don't typically build a transmitter or receiver, we buy them already made and just install the receiver, set the the transmitter up and use them.

i was under the impression that i could use my toy helicopter parts to build the hover as it has a 4 CH controller, but know i know what i need to buy/build to make a engine spin.

Now i just need to get tons of money to buy a controller, RC transmitter, RC receiver a Ducted fan and one ESC.
