Solder joint on the board, probably. I sent two back for it.

Hitec warranty is the best in the business. General consensus is if the servo is still being manufactured then they will replace it free of charge, even if it is over the 2 year period. If it is no longer being manufactured then it falls back to the 2 years, either via the date on the invoice or the sticker on the servo.

+1 !! They've replaced one or two for me...no questions asked. |

My son twisted the steering wheel off of my Hitec CRX transmitter. Sent it in for repair. Hitec replaced the entire transmitter free of charge with free return shipping.
Hitec has the best customer service in industry. |

I had a 7955TG that just died and sent it to Hitec in Germany and got one back without any hassle. Took about 3 weeks!

Hope you are all correct
So much for how good Hitec's are, Had a 7954 go bad after only 1 race day :flaming:, awaiting a response from Hitec as to warranty.
It's a pity, coz all I read was how reliable Hitecs were/are, and this has left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. All I know is my other ACE servos have been bullet proof. |

Do you REALLY think any servo brand will have a 0% failure rate? Of course a servo will die randomly from ANY brand. You just got the bad one and had to be part of the statistics! You have to think bigger then that. If you say ACE is a good brand that mean they will have, let's say 20 out of a 1000 to break. Compare that to let's say 40 out of a 1000 from hitec that is broken. Now you can say that Hitec is the worse company and they make bad servos compared to ACE. Then you have the next step. Let think for a while that Ace and Hitec both have equal amount of bad servos. Who's has the better customer service? |
HMM
I have had several Ace servos and one died, sent it in, forgot about it, then one day I got a brand new one in the mail. I like ace and hitec....

So much for how good Hitec's are, Had a 7954 go bad after only 1 race day , awaiting a response from Hitec as to warranty I don't think anybody hardly bothers to burn in a servo any more now that they have gotten so reliable. Maybe they should. You always have a chance of failure in infancy, if it lasts thru this phase it should be around for a while unless external circumstances prevail. For the prices charged companies can't afford to do stress test on each servo they manufacture. I hook every new servo up on a servo tester and let it run for several minutes checking for torque by simply putting pressure on the output shaft periodically and checking the case for heat. Ed M. |
