Was sent wrong servo, need advice please

Hello,

I recently purchased an Orion 1007 high speed servo for my T3. It seemed ok and was an ok value, but the online hobby store sent me the Orion 2015 high torque servo. Tomorrow I have to send it back to exchange it and wanted to get some opinions if I should make the exchange or just keep this one. Is the 2015 good for touring cars at all? I was afraid it might be to slow. It has plenty of torque though.

Here are the specs for both:

1007:
Dimensions 1.59x0.79x1.46"
Weight 1.85oz
Speed @6.0V 0.07 sec/60°
Torque @6.0V 138 oz/in
Bearings Dual
Type Standard
Gears Titanium & Aluminum
Case Aluminum

2015:
Dimensions: 1.59x0.79x1.46"
Weight: 1.85oz
Speed: 0.15 sec/60° (@6.0V)
Torque: 278 oz.-in. (@6.0V)
Bearing: Dual
Type: Standard
Gear: Titanium and Aluminum
Case: Aluminum

Thanks everyone

I haven't run either but based on the specs, the 2015 is a bit slower than I personally would like but still faster than my absolute minimum so it should be fine. I find as long as they are quicker than .18, they feel fine to me. I would still prefer .12 or quicker though.

I would prefer the faster servo even in offroad. To me, quick steering can help you recover if your rear slides out or you make an input error. Plus with most modern radios, you can slow it down if its too fast to begin with.

It's not super slow you will notice a huge difference. I never used to run high speed servos and now I can't stand even my hitec which is .14 sec.

For steering on an electric touring car I would make the exchange and get the 1007.

^^^+1, do the exchange for the faster servo. Down the road there won't be any questions or 'what ifs' second guessing this decision.

Thanks for everyones help. You helped me make my decision. I'm making the exchange for the 1007. And on the upside they are sending out the 1007 rite away with a postage paid envelope to send back the 2015! I really didnt think they would send another until they recieved the 2015 back. So not to bad at all.

That's cool that they'll do that but I'm also guessing they have your CC number too..incase you decide to move to tahiti:sneaky:

^^^ Probably.....but its nice to have a company treat you like you're a responsible adult.
