Purpose of the imax quattro software kit
 

I have have only been into rc for almost a year now and i picked up the imax quattro charger about a month or so ago. I have been reading about this software kit and wire that i can hook up to my laptop, but im just wondering what that does?? can i change anything with it or is it just alike a data logger??

It just lets you see the charging process on your PC. Voltage versus time and mybe cumulative mah input and maybe the individual lipo cell voltages. Its just graphical.

I went thru this with my Hyperion charger and it was neat the 1st one or two times, but I've never used it again. I had to do this with my charger to get the firmware updates, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. Its not going to allow you to control anything from the PC.

Agreed. Some of the air guys really get into watching discharge graphs. I never saw the point. Throw the battery in the buggy and have fun.
