Dynamite FUZE????
I have seen many posts about this system and it looks like a lot of people like them. However the posts were older back from the beginning of this year. Now that the system has been out for a bit what are your thoughts. I need to get a BL system before this weekend and unfortunately I am on a budget. I was looking at the following but stumbled apon the fuse which has some good adjustments to it and looks easier to use than the Novak.
Novak Havoc 3S 13.5 combo Associated sc450-BL 3300kv combo (cheap some adjustments) (Now) Dynamite Fuze 3300kv combo (good adjustment ranges as good as Novak Havoc 3S if not better and easier to do) Can I get some thoughts? For anyone that has the fuze can you replace the motor bearings yourself? How does it do keeping up with other systems? I will be putting it in my Blitz to replace the Reedy Radon 17T that just went on me. Thanks |
Few things to consider - the fuse and the AE systems you listed are not sensored- meaning they only work with sensorless motors.Sensored systems are race legal for stock classes sensorless isnt.If you really dont intend on racing stock classes sensorless is fine.
If you are on a real budget check out the ez-run brushless systems at nitrorcx.com. They have both sensored and sensorless systems paired with motors of varying KV ratings so you can choose what motor will best suit your needs. The EZ run speedos are nice. I have both a 35a and 60a version.both work nice and have many adjustments including timing, punch, brag brake, reverse,,etc. the best part was the price it is like $80.00 for a motor, speedo and programming card. |

As for the stock class I am not sure. One track near me doesnt really care and the other only runs spec with what comes in the box then you can switch components with the old SC10 rtr, slash, or blitz. So I am really up in the air. |

Nitro RCX also just started carrying the Leopard brushless systems. For under 60.00 you can go brushless, and from looking at the stats it has just as many adjustments as the dynamite system. Also I have done business with nitro RCX many times and the service is always great. Also if you use the code "RCX10" when ordering you get 10% off your order.I also wanted to point out that Nitro RCX has the best deal on hardcased li-pos in the states..Who can gripe about a 4000 25c lipo for 20.00??By the way, i am not affiliated with them in any way, they are just my favorite for quality electronics gear on the cheap.I love the look on guys faces that race with their wallet when they realize you just kicked their butt with a set-up that costs less than their personal transponder did.LOL!.

Stay away from the track that runs spec!! You will spend a small fortune in brushed motors in no time:nod:Did that for a while with my slash, and by motor #3 in the season I figured out that spec is NOT the way to go for cheap racing in the long run at 25.00 per motor.
I really want to step up to the brushless but dont know if I should keep it legal or not with a sensored setup. I know one track follows ROAR and one does not. One has spec and one does not I just want to give up at this point. Also with all the stuff out there and everyone says that bad dont get then other people say its great it kills me. I dont know I have a 3PM dead line to order something to get it by friday so I will try to figure it out. |
another option if you want to stay ROAR legal is to go to novak's website. They have re-manufactured gear on there for cheap compared to retail prices. Like an XBR speedo for 65.00.The xbr was the predicessor to the havok 2s.I still have 3 that were bought 4 years ago when they first came out and all 3 still work great. The bad part is for a sensored motor you will still have to spend between $50 for used and $80 for new.I think if i were in your shoes I would probally go with a cheaper sensored system with the thought that even if you decide to go the sensored ROAR legal route in the future you can keep the cheap system in your pit box for a back-up incase of emergency. The speedo (especially the ez-run) will still run a sensored motor in a pinch.Plus sensorless is perfectly legal to run in mod.

yet another option is the Hobby city set-ups. they run both sensored and sensorless motor.Down side is they are in hong kong and take 5 days to get to the states.I will post up a link when I get back home from taking my 5yr old to get registered for kindergarten.

I bit the bullet and bought the Havoc 3S with the 13.5 Ballistic motor. The one thing I like about the Ballistic motors it that you can take them a part and clean them. Looking at other products no one states you can take the motors a part and I do not like that. I am hoping I made the right choice and I pulled the trigger quickly because I need it on Friday to race.
Thank you for all of your input I will keep the info for future cars. |
i have a fuze 6800 kv system...the motor does tear down so you can clean it out, and replace/clean bearings...i just cleaned mine out but messed up putting the output shaft bearing in with a screwdriver instead of a socket...now the output shaft bearing is broke...thats the only problem ive had with my fuze system. its great and on 2s 4000 mah 25 c its a rocket...when i first put it in, i had the body on my sc10 and coming down the street it tried to take off...if only it had wings! lol
