Help in understanding motors and esc

Hi, I'm new to RC cars - still racing IOM a RC racing sailing class - and I don't understand how to read the technical info of engines and esc.

I know the difference btw brushed and brushless but don't know the rest like :

3600kV, 5200Kv and 4.5T or 10.5T - what do they mean and what the differences.

And how to find an ESC that will match a motor or vice et versa...

Thx for your help

Fyi I bought a B44 second hand and very happy so far but I need a new ESC and frankly I don't know what to pick - my current motor is a Murfdogg brushed but that's all I can find out.

We have a lot of information on our web site that might be helpful. We have complete product descriptions, spec charts, technical updates, how-to articles, etcs.

Well, actually, kV stands for kilovolts, being 1,000 volts. In the RC world, however, the Kv rating is basically what you said - the RPM an electric motor can theoretically produce per volt that is applied to it.

As it turns out, a lower number of turns on a motor will yield a higher speed (similar to a Kv rating), but will tend to have lower torque as a result.

Everything else you said was pretty much dead-on though! :)
