1/18 scale brushless system

Hey Guys, I've been a brushed motor guy my whole life but lately it seems like brushless is the way to go. I have a 1/18 scale scalpel pan car, and i'm looking for a good and most importantly RELIABLE brushless system, that i'm probably gonna run on a 4cell NiMH battery.

so far I've looked into the fallowing:
  • Mongoose Micro Brushless System
  • Tekin Mini Rage

are these any good and what would you guys recommend?

also is it better to go with sensorless or sensored system?

Thank you

Both of those systems are good, but the Mongoose uses a 26mm motor which would be overkill for that pan car. Most of the other popular 18th scale systems use 20mm motors which would be perfect for your car.

I prefer sensorless designs, but some swear the sensored systems are much smoother on takeoff and low speed. In my opinion sensored systems have a similar feel to a brushed motor. But sensorless controllers have improved so much in the last few years I think the difference is negligible, plus there less sensitive electronics to possibly fail.

Tekin, Castle Creations, Reedy and others make good reliable systems. My personal favorite is EZRun systems for their low cost and high performance.
