few simple questions regarding binding a receiver + remote

1. I bought a spektrum dx3.0 + sr3000 receiver and they didnt include a instruciton manual... how do I connect them so they will work with each other?

2. (this ones kinda embarassing)... ive been out of RC cars for so long I forgot how the wiring goes!! in the SR3000 receiver, what side does the brown/black cable supposed to face? the inside or outside prongs?

3. on the buggy battery box, there is a on/off switch and three cables coming from it... I understand two are for the battery, but what is the other one for? (mugen mbx5 buggy)

Here's a link to the manul that you can dnload and view as a pdf -

Usually the neg lead is to the outside of the rcvr, but dbl check in the manual. The extra wire is prob a charge lead that let you charge the rcvr batt (nitro setup) without removing it from the rcvr box - it would connect ot the charger and with switch off, would charge the rcvr batt. Doesn't sound like you'll be using it though...

ok thank you. I got it all figured out now. it took me two hours of tinkering but I finally got the servos in, lined up, everything is set up perfect and adjusted. damn it was hell of a job. been almost 2 years since I touched a rc car.

I am 98% done, all I need is an air filter, and a pullstart, both of which should be in the mail any day now, I cant wait!!!

thanks

Way to go!! There's been a lot of charges in RC in the last 2 years and radios have been a big part of that change. Modern radios are straight forward, but you just about have to have the manual cause there are so many ways that things could be setup.
