intermintent Shut down, please help
Salutations folks Ive been running my blitz for some time now but the last 2 times at the track my car will shut down for just a second "throttle and steering" then come back and it dose this on and off. some times 5 min or more inbetween. I noticed a snapped antenna on my receiver so i replaced that but it diddnt fix the problem. Here is what im running.
Havoc 3 ESC with Ballistic 8.5 (running temps 120 after 20 min) ACE 1313 servo Spektrum dx2.0 radio with sc300 receiver. Hobby People 5000MaH 2cell 35c lipos People at the track seem to think something on the esc board has come loose but ive also heard people say it could be my dsm1, although i have a hard time believing that since its worked perfect for so long. Please help, im going insane. |
Maybe your lipo is starting to have more severe voltage drops during acceleration. I had this happen with a brushed esc and a spektrum rx only thing i could think of was that the voltage was dropping lower than the rx could handle and kicking it off. but since you're running lipo it might be dropping to the cutoff level for a second. I would try to accelerate slow and fast and see if it cuts out. mine seemed worse while turning so try that too.
Also maybe try at the begining and end of a pack |
well with running a 8.5 motor im never more then half throttle. Although im using these hobby people lipos have there been problems with them doing this kind of thing? Ive bought a new mamba max pro esc to see if the problem stops. Any more ideas are sure appreciated

I had a similar issue last week and it was the speedo connection. One wire had backed out of the receiver plug part way and was barely making contact. It would give up under heavy load after a couple of laps, but worked with the wheels off the ground. Pushed it all the way back in and problem was solved. Hopefully yours is a similarly simple fix.

i had the same prob since i use dean connector from batt to esc. what happened was the deans connector turned black. this due to spikes when u connect & remove the batt. once i had both deans replaced all ok.

I had this problem when I switched over from a stock sc10 steering servo to an airtronics 94357. The the amp draw from the 94357 was taxing the BEC from my sidewinder ESC. It would essentially cut off the receiver and it would take a second or two for the receiver (SR3001) to re-bind with the radio and all was well. Here was the solution to my problem, a voltage protector like the one on this link, or I made one myself with an old GTX power capacitor. If you make your own, it will need to be rated at 10volts and above and at least 3300uf.
