extra channel and bec input

I saw in RC Car Action to tape over open channels or BEC inputs to keep dirt out. Would using extra plugs to fill the openings cause any issues? If they aren't hooked up and not sending a signal, would there be an issue with interfence or the receiver acting strange?

I don’t think it would be a problem. The receiver sockets don’t have anything in the Radio Frequency range.

Extra plugs are still going to leave anough gap if you're running in fine sand or silt, that it can still get in. Other possibiloity is to run rcvr in a small rcvr box.

Would using tape be a prob? That would seal the opening completely rather than leave gaps and risk poss probs like additional plugs could.

I tried the tape method. The little strips of tape don't seem to hold well. A receiver box would be the best solution, I guess.

What type tape did you try using? I've used plain black electrical tape and if anything, it sticks too well.

I changed to rcvr boxes and ended the probs and issue with taping though. Suspect its a better fix in the long run.
