I just realized there are two B6's, were you referring to not getting the iMax B6 or Battman B6? Thanks. I doubt I run 3s lipos, unless my Caster F18T with a Hobbywing 25a esc truly can handle it. I was planning on 2S. I just read where someone said stay away from 50w units.

Seems if you can access a specific calibration menu, then you can replace some resistirs on teh pcb and fix the balancer. If yoyu can't access this specific calibration menu, then you can't help the balancer.

I wouldn't buy one after reading about this issue. Thats what your price savings is costing you - a good balancer.

The 80watt looks good, its a little more than you need, but extra charger power is always a good thing. The 80watts will let you charge 3S at pretty much full 1C charge rates which is something you can't do with 50watts.
Lots of us in the the UK having been buying B6's recently as they are by far the cheapest lipo balancing charger available in this country.

My charger, along with at least 10 other people I know that own one has been fine. Mine balance charges to about 4.18V per cell (+/- .02V per cell) which is pretty good for such a cheap charger and the other people I know who own one get similar performance when balance charging. This would imply to me that the problem has been fixed on the latest B6's.

They are superb value for money if like me you don't have a requirement for a monster wattage charger.

Then it sounds like the prob with the balancer in the IMax B-6 has been resolved.

There is no prob with a 50watt charger. You just need to be aware that when you exceed the charger's 50watt output power limit, the charger reduces charging current. It will still charge, it will just take longer than a charger that can maintain a full 1C charge rate. With 50watts, there will not be any charge current reduction wioth 2S lipos and 1C charge rates. You will see some reduction starting with 3S lipos and higher cell counts.

Yea, I'm not so sure my Caster or other 1/18th scale cars can use a 3S. So, which charger are ya'll thinking? Battman B6 80w, iMax B6 pro, or Thunder AC6?

For me, I would always go with the higher charger output power. This gives you flexibility in solving charging issues down the road as your wants change (and believe me, they will change). I'd get the 80watt Battman.

If your Caster turns out to be 3S capable you'll have a charger that can handle that. I run 3S in my 18th Vendetta buggy and my Vendetta ST - not as a steady diet, but when I want to make speed runs, a 3S lipo gets the call.

Thanks as I was thinking that I could run into finding the 3S would work. Mike at Caster said he's heard of the Hobbyking 25a handling a 3S.

I run all Mamba 25s and they have no probs running 3S. As competitive as these are, I'd expect it to be able to as well.

I use the same capacity (mah) as I run with 2S and the same C rating - 1600mah 20C in either 2S or 3S. Room is the driving issue in a Vendetta - 3S is thicker and I've modded a batt hold down strap to accomodate the thicker 3S.

My plan is to order two 2S 2200 mah 7.4 20c, one 3S 1500mah 11.1 20c, the Battman B6 80w and a/c adaptor. The packs are about 1mm wider than it looks like I have (34mm). Hopefully I can fit them in there without cutting too much.

I don't, I'm sorry. The Battman is only available overseas, that much I do know. I wish the Thunder AC6 had higher wattage for the 3S. I like that charger the best just because of it being here.
