Shorten ECS switch wires?

Can I shorten the wires going to the switch for my esc. I'm also looking to shorten the wires going to the Tx from the ECS. Can this be done, or does someone make shorter wires?

Two ways: 1) Cut out the amount of wire you want to remove from the harness and solder the wires back together using heat shrink on each wire or 2) open the case of the ESC, desolder the switch wires from the board and cut them to the length you want and resolder to the board.

Another way is to put a new female end on the wire going to the receiver. You need a special tool for this, but it can be done.

Here is the tool:

Here is an example of the plugs you'd need to purchase:

It's not hard, but lining up the wires in the tiny little connectors as you crimp them can be tricky if you don't have steady hands. Easier than doing a splice, or resoldering inside the servo, in my opinion. More expensive, though.

Be careful - you can shorten wires and not affect the warranty, but start soldering on the board and your warranty is usually gone.

If you're out of coverage anyway, then its a non-issue.

Yea, I have plugs on the ends, so no need to solder on the boards. I should probably buy the tool and the ends, as I need to make a pigtail for the Lipo in my M11x.
