Holy crap, I go away for 6 months and there's about 60 new pages worth of modding stuff for the GT3b!

It looks like we can flash the firmware now (yay!) to fix the trim adjustment limitation. Awesome. I read through that tutorial, but it doesn't cover extracting the original firmware. Is there another tutorial somewhere for that?

Also, I wonder if it is possible to modify the FW to allow for more than 10 presets? I'm sure this chip doesn't have much storage space, but each preset can't possibly take up more than a couple KB.

Nice one! Now I need to actually find one. Is this the same bearings that goes around diffs in 1/10 onroads?
It makes it feel tight now like a good radio like a ko propo or other radios that have a bearing.

It's a standard 8x12x3.5mm bearing there are alot of companies that make em i just went with the traxxas blue seal ones.

These receivers are not compatible with Spektrum. But you can buy the whole radio with receiver for $35 which is less than the cost of 1 Spektrum receiver. Hobby King sells their line of "Orange" receivers that are supposed to work with Spektrum.

With your radio hooked up and communicating through the programmer board, go to the ST Visual Programmer menu and select READ -> ALL TABS. That should load your original firmware. Then select FILE -> SAVE AS to save it.

Enjoy.
(photos are in order with steps first photo to left #1 and so on)

Parts needed 8mmX12MMx3.5MM normal bearing I used traxxas 2 for $4.00 (see Photo)

1) use a reamer and make the whole larger so the bearing fits in the cover snug with no slop go slowly with the reamer( go from front and rear see photo after hole was inlarged.)

2) Next Push bearing all the way on the steering shaft it fits snug.

3) assemble the parts back together now you have a beauty!!
This is awesome Thanks!!

I have my Merv and slash hooked up on this Radio. When I have both rc's turned on, they both respond to it, it does not matter if my model selected on the radio is on Erevo or slash. Is this normal? or I am missing something here.

Default Getting Ready to Flash --Software Question

Guys,

I'm getting ready to upgrade the FW on my GT3B and am plannning on trying the "3 wire" connection that fixitrod and others have used.

So here's my rather dumb question:

Do I need to utilize the software tools set or can this basically be accomplished with the web site developed by PXS or these tool used in concert with one another?

TIA for your thoughts.

PSX's web site only generates the new firmware file for you. The software is still needed to transfer the firmware to the radio.

Thanks

We got the radios this weekend and the programming board on Friday. I have done 2 radios in less time than it took me to unsolder the little jumpers on the developer board!

If anyone needs their radio reflashed, let me know via PM.
