Lipo balance help!

I need a lipo balancer, I have a onyx 230 charger which is lipo capable. My question is what balancer is compatible with this charger? I've heard blinky, but is there something else maybe a little cheaper? Also how do you connect a balancer to the charger, do you run the charger power through the balancer, or do you connect the balancer to the balance port on the battery? Thanks

Blinky is about the cheapest one I know of. You just plug it into the balance harness on the battery.

Most external balancers will operate in standalone or charger thru modes. You get a better charge in charge thru mode - balancer connects to the charger and lipo connects to balancer, both power leads and balance leads. This is an example of this kind of balancer -

Blinky is diff in that it just goes directly in the balance connection of teh lipo. It will work in either mode. Its a little delicate - have to take care with the wires where it plugs in, other than that precaustion, it does a good job. Prob cheapest option available.
