Need help with Mamba Max 5700
 

Hi,

I need some guidance on an issue I am experiencing with my Mamba Max ESC with 5700 Motor.

Im not sure if the problem lies within the ESC or the Motor.

I was running my RC and all of a sudden it stopped running. I still had steering and when I press the throttle or brake the correct lights light up however there is no movement at all. I can't even hear the motor spin.
Both ESC and Motor were still cool as I didnt use it for long at all, I have also tried a few hours later but had the same results.

Mamba Max has auto LVC for lipos so it shouldnt be a problem as I tested with 2 different freshly charged 2S Lipos.

I have been very happy with the combo nad always made sure it ran cool.

Anyone know what the issue may be? ESC or Motor?

Its not showing any LED codes at all when you're trying? If its just dead, sounds like BEC that powers the esc internally has gone out. You could try bypassing the BEC if you have an external one.

Another thought - on/off switches on these can be flaky - maybe try direct connection to bypass switch? Call Castle and make sure that doesn't void any warranty you may have. They may have some suggestions to help.

Yeh the correct LED lights light up when I press on the throttle or brake.

It just doesnt seem to have any response from the motor.

ESC could be stuck in setup mode

Can you calibrate the esc with the throttle and brake endpoints ?

If you have a dvm/mm, hook the batt up, turn it on and measure voltage at the motor - if you have almost full batt voltage at the motor, its prob a motor prob, If the voltage is diff or not there, its prob the esc.
