KO PROPO 2.4Ghz Random Binding/UNbinding
Got a weird problem with my EX-1 UR w/ 2.4Ghz. The other day at the track, the radio would be running just fine, then after a qualifier, I shut everything down (i always turn on TX the RX and vice versa for shut down). When I started it back up about 20 minutes later, I was getting nothing for about 5 minutes, then it jsut decided to magically start working. Anyone have any ideas on what to check for/ problems that it might have been? I've looked through the manual, but it doenst have the re-bind steps in it, the manual was written before the 2.4Ghz module came out, or so it would seem.

This may not be correct, but it's something to look into...
I read somewhere that the Futaba 4PK could interfere with the way some of the KO 2.4 systems operate. You may want to look into exactly what was happening and see if your radio is one that was affected by this. -David |
That could be quite possible, I noticed that there were a few guys there using the 4PK. Could have just been a fluke thing, I'll check it out again when I get home this afternoon.

You should probably send the module and Rx in for service to be checked.

I would send it in, but I have a race on the 8th that I can't afford to miss sinec I bombed the last one in the series (not due to radio issues though)

I've had plenty of experience with this issue, as I dealt with it for about a full season.
- Be sure to turn on your system before any of the 4PK guys do, if possible. - If they're already on, back away from them (like 50 feet or around the corner and try turning your system on there). This is a pain... once I had to go outside the building in the middle of winter to get the system to lock in... fun. - Once it locks in, it works fine throughout the race. I finally broke down and bought a 2nd module, just so that I wouldn't be out of commission. BTW, the updated modules are designated by red marking on the circuit board by where the pins connect. Then I sent the 1st module in, and I'll have a spare when it comes back. |
