hitec 7995tg question

hi i have just purchased a hitec 7995tg servo and i am wondering do they do a gear set for this servo or are the titanium gears meant to outlast the life of the servo?

cheers

Think the gear set will outlast the life... lol

HiTecs warranty is great, should you break one, they will more then likely replace it, or send you the parts.

This of course meaning you didn't abuse the servo, light it on fire, submerge it, use it as a hammer, sling shot ammo, car door opener, or any other absurd action you can think of besides what it was designed for :)

sweet i thought i would just ask. Also i take it this servo is a qualitity one that wont break anytime soon if the endpoints are set properly. This will be my first 7995 servo :D

at 7.4V it will perform better. Whilst you will not find anything 'official' from Hitec on using unregulated 7.4V with the 7995 there are plenty of racers doing it - not sure how that might effect Hitecs warranty tho. Make make sure your other servo can handle that voltage too. If not you may be better to get a 6.6V LiFe pack. Here's examples of both that will work in your CEN -

I've been running it like that for 2 years now, and love it. Hitec will still cover you on warranty should you have a failure, their service is THE BEST, PERIOD. Just make sure your radio gear can handle unregulated LiPo though! ( Nomadio, Spektrum are fine with this )

I've had a 5955 (the previous version of that) for about 2 years... ran it with the servo saver cranked down so it pretty doesn't work as a servo saver. Bent and even broken aluminum servo horns... no damage to the gears.

If you don't set your endpoints correctly you are likely to damage something else with this servo... pull the radio tray loose, etc.

Mike.

the Reps FROM Hitec are the one's who have confirmed the 5955/7955's are good to go....so Yes there is "Official Proof" from Hitec...its just not on the package is all.

Oh and Your are NOT forgoing your Warranty in any way shape or Form running unregulated....Hitec will 1000% stand behind their product...User's fault or Not...its just the way they run things over there.

Take their warranty with a grain of salt. They are very good about replacing servos that may or may not be faulty but they will not replace abused servos of any age. They will also repair older wornout servos at a decent cost but not replace them.

I'm not knocking HiTec service and they do give you a good fair price on repairs but don't expect a freebie every time. I had them repair an old S-5925 digital and it ran about $70, but a new replacement was $120 so I saved $50 and got an old servo back in good working order.

Servo Chatter.\

Just put this servo in my Ve8. When the servo is idle it makes some chirping noises. It works fine and is as smooth as can be. Just wanted to see if this is normal from digital servos.

NEVER once have i been charged by Hitec in my MT bashing days and i must have sent back a 645 and 5645 at least 3 time's a piece and To boot they were bought used off Ebay......My 5955's i bought used again are still going 2 year's strong and IF they ever skip a beat i wont think for a second hitec wont take care of me with a New servo No question's asked as it has been said by many Hitec reps that they are in the business of making the customer happy and a New/repaired servo will Always do that.
