Traxxas 2.4 issue
I recently bought a used FT B4 from a member on this forum, and he threw in a Traxxas 2.4 Link radio and receiver to help get me going.
I've got everything hooked up properly (I believe) and when I turn everything on the red light comes on, the throttle works for about 30 seconds, the steering gets twitchy, and then everything stops and the receiver light starts flashing...any ideas? I noticed on the receiver that there are two spots labled channel 1, which one should my steering servo be plugged into? |
Dang, I was hoping someone here was familiar with what I'm dealing with.
Looks like I'll have to call Traxxas. |
I bought one, but I haven't had a chance to fool with it yet.
Get the Slash (#6808) 4x4 manual (uses this radio) and print pages 13-15 & 28-31 for reference, you'll never get it figured out otherwise, it seems straight forward, but you've got to know what to do and how to do it. Just offhand, the flashing red LED means link failure/error - no longer bound. See pg 29, trans LED codes. http://www.traxxas.com/products/elec...ews.htm#manual I'd be really surprised if you can find that kind of help over the phone, but you may be lucky. There are two places in the rcvr provided for dual strg servos, it doesn't matter which one you're using. You did calibtrate the radio to the esc? |

Nope, I haven't calibrated the radio to the ESC, I don't even think this radio has been used. I believe the previous owner pulled it outta the 4x4 and used his other electronics, so I think this might be a binding issue like you stated. When I get the chance I'm going to use that manual you provided to bind, and see if I get anywhere. I'll keep you updated. |
traxxas
call traxxas, Ive had to use their support about 5 times so far in my RC life. They will put the tech right on the phone and have it fixed in minutes. I know my electronics but when something doesnt operate as desired, they usually know why as they have seen it.

Update
The manuals that Duster provided helped a ton! Looks like my rx and tx weren't bound/linked, just had to relink and I was set. |
