? about battery packs

i have a traxxas 7.4v 3000mah hump back battery pack. when charged, it reads 9.52 volts. and i also have a venom 8.4v 5000mah pack when charged reads 10.11 volts. i used my volt-meter. why do they read so high?

What type of charger are you using? Is this the voltage while charging or slightly after a charge?

A good NiMh cell will read more than 1.5v fresh off the charger. The 3000mah pac is 1.59v/cell and the 8400 is 1.44v/cell. Mine do the same thing - they read 1.49-1.54v/cell. Age and cycles will drive these numbers down as the internal resistance in the cells goes up. There is nothing wrong.
