I would recommend the Hitec 7955TG's. If you have the money the Hitec HV 7950 and 7940 would be the top servo's. But the 7955TG is the best for the money. All three can handle 7.4v straight.

I was on a tight budget and use the hobbico cs-170(str) and the cs-160(thr)
no problems yet. |
I use the Savöx SC-1256TG (=equal to Team Orion Vortex VDS2015) on steering. (20kg/cm - 0.15sec @6V)
And a Savöx SC-1258 TG (= equal to Team Orion Vortex VDS-1409) on the break/throtlle (12kg/0.08sec). Both are great servos for a great price, ideal for buggies and truggies. Powerfull and fast! |
Keep em comeing guys!;) what are your thoughts on Airtronics? I have even found some elcheapo servos that had respectful numbers but I am alittle scared of them(power hd)

Very wrong, my friend. Cheap servos yield expensive results. As in not being able to stop at the end of a long straightaway and.....well.....you figure out the rest, I am figuring out how to get my front end back together. Cheap servos will cost you in the long run. |
hitec 7940 7950 great servos
|
hitec 7955 for steering and hitec 645 for throttle/brake. i have been running the same ones for about a year now, they work great.
|
Repeat after me:
I will ONLY run Hitec titanium gear servos... I will ONLY run Hitec titanium gear servos... I will ONLY run Hitec titanium gear servos... Nothing else compares to the durability of those... I can break ANYTHING and have yet to have one fail on me. |
Geez another one of these? Is it really necessary? You know the answer.:D
Hitec all the way!! If you want the best of the best there is no competition. Hitec 7940 and 7950 if you want to run unregulated lipo power(highly recommended btw). Or if you're running nimh or a regulator a pair of 7955's would do the trick. I personally recommend the 7940 & 7950 combo if you have a receiver that can handle unregulated lipo. In buggy you can run a pair of 7940's if you like. I would recommend the 7950 for steering in a truggy though(the extra torque is good to have).;) |
