temp gauge on DX3s?
 

My temp gauge on the radio is either way off or my handheld gauge is way off.

I have my temp band(or whatever it's called)right where the radios instructions say to put it. My radio said my car was running at about 250 and my buddies handheld temp gauge said I was at 205.

Is the one with the radio just not reliable. The buggy did seem to be running awfully rich but my radio was telling me I was hitting over 260 sometimes, and everytime my friend checked it was never above 210.

Which one should i go by, the radio or the handheld?

Handheld. You need to calibrate the one on the radio....

How do you calibrate it. I don't remember reading anything in the instructions about that?

Handheld infrared temp guages can be inaccurate depending on a reflection from an alloy material (ie from the header), and you need to set the ëmissity" rating on the unit.

First I heard of calibrating a temp guage on a Spektrum DX3S too. I''d say a temp guage using a contact point would be more accurate than one based on infrared which can be thrown by reflections from the material.
