NIMH Rx - Short circuiting
Hi guys,
Could anyone tell me how much damage (if any) is done to a NIMH receiver battery pack if the positive and negative terminals are allowed to touch for a few seconds?
Thanks,
Kronos.

The pack didn't get hot (to the touch) and it was about 3 seconds..
It still reads greater than 6V (it's a 5 cell pack) - so you think damage should be pretty minimal then?

Yes, sounds like minimal damage if any. If the short had been severe, those light gage wires would have gotten hot and melted insulation off or the internal connection to the batt would have unsoldered and open circuited the batt.
You may want to disch it on a charger and then recharge it to make sure its ok before you depend on it. I usually test disch mine at 1amp when I have concerns about one.
