Tekin FX v029 upgrade problems?
 

Sorry if this is a duplicate post, but I could not find a thread on this particular problem.

I just picked up a Tekin FX (forward only) ESC and attempted to upgrade it to the v029 firmware. The hotwire update appeared to work, but when I tried using the ESC it never came to life. No tones, and the LEDs were all burning dim. The servo worked, so there didn't appear to be any battery problems.

I found a thread on the Tekin forum that described the identical problem, and that guy had to downgrade to v028 for his ESC to work again. The downgrade worked for me too.

My questions are this:
1. Was there ever a fix to the v029 update problem with the FX?
2. What am I missing by not being able to update to v029?
