battery load testing
How do you do it? I have the Turnigy 130W meter, but what are you guys using for the load?
|
I have a prop that fits a brushed motor mounted to the bench. I dont think it pulls more than 20-30A, but its what I have so it works for light loads.

I have the turnigy wattmeter, great little device
I use it to check battery performance on my mini revo with different battery combinations Great for showing the following Amps Drawn Voltage drop under load Total Power Just gets connected between batteries and esc Showed me very noticeable difference between the cheap Zippy batteries and some more expensive ones rated at a higher discharge Cheers |
I guess I'm doing the same thing with my Eagle Tree onboard data recorder. I get voltage and current vs run time over a run. Its a real world type load and it tells me a lot about my setup - what the amp draw is, when its highest, when its lowest and what kind of average. I can see if lipo lives up to its C rating based on the voltage drop for a given amp demand.

I use this on nimh do not have lipos yet just got a orion race spec charger and am ordeing lipos soon the tekin goes to 30 amp gives run time in seconds and capacity

The data is reset each time the unit is turned on
Initially when plugged in it will show you the current battery voltage Once you do a power / high speed run it will store the following Max amps Min Volts Power Mah used Cheers |
