Servo, ESC plugs
 

So I just picked up a used MX-3 for pretty cheap but all of my electronics have the futaba plug on it with the little slot on the side. I've read I can just shave this off and plug it in but what way does it go?

You can shave it off, the black should go to the outside of the rcvr.
