Default Li-Po Charger question

Following the advice of Duster 360 I am re-posting this here again. But I am pretty sure I got the answer I was looking for. Thx Duster

Here it is:

Hi Everyone!

I am new to this forum and heard a lot about its friendly, helpful atmosphere. I would really appreciate some advice regarding the following situation:

I have two 11.1V 3C Li-Po batteries, one 2200mAh 20C and one 2650mAh 25C. Both feature JST-XH charging plugs.

Will the default balancing boards for the following two charger models work with my batteries, or do I need to get an JST-XH balancing board adapter?

1. HYPERION EOS0606I AC/DC CHARGER $129.95

2. ElectriFly Triton EQ AC / DC Charger $129.95

Thank you in advance!!

Hyperion comes with the hyperion/polyquest style balance connector - its diff than the JST-XH. The Triton EQ comes with their electrifky balance connector - this is the same thing as a JST-XH connector, or as its also called the Align style connector. Troton EQ will work out of the box with your JST-XH type lipos.

AMain, ALLERC, Maxamps and others sell the Hyperion balance adapters for the 0606i to allow it to connect with JST-XH type lipos.

Thanks so much! For the Hyperion I need a JST-XH Balance board adapter like this one: HYPERION MULTI-ADAPTER BALANCE HARNESS 2S-6S - XH

I believe the 0606i revision 'C' chargers include both Hyperion and JST-XH balance boards.

Might want to check that.

Now what's the deal with this Thunder AC6 charger? My buddy and so many others report that for the price you can't beat it. But wouldn't I still want either the Hyperion or Triton EQ as they are proven?

Not unless both AMain and ALL E RC have failed to update their ads on the 0606i - both say just the Hyperion Balance Multi-Adapter included. I realize Hyperion charger support page shows 2 balance adapters with every charger, but there's no description for any charger that says they now came with two adapter boards.....??? Maybe yes, maybe no??

Maybe not.....the Thunder AC-6 has a good rep here, theres a lot with them and as far as I know, I've only seen one complaint. It was that the charger looked cheap.....duh, its is cheap! It seems to do the job though. I bought a $35 charger from HobbyCity in HongKong before HobbyPartz got started and there's nothing wrong with it. It is a Chinese charger, so you get the benefit of the cheap labor and the finish is not at the level of the Hyperion or the Triton, but that doesn't affect the way it works.

The newest hyperion 0606i (c version) does come with the JST-XH balancing board and the hyperion. I have both sitting here next to me.

At one of the tracks where I race six of us have the Thunder AC6 and love them. Most paid about $54 plus shipping. Hobby Partz had them on sale for $39.99 for a few days at one time. I have two and use them every week. No issues so far.

Looks like GP only supplies JST-XH (Electrifly or Align type) anmd Flightpower/Thunderpower type balance adapters for the charger. You need an adapter to PolyQuest/Hyperion type connection.

You didn't say which cell count, but this will take care of a 2S - your hyperion will plug in fem end and the male end will go into your Electrifly (JST-XH or Align) board.
