Steve, you're welcome. I came from nitro background (planes) and haven't been into the electrics but a few years, and I'm still running nitros as well, I like both.

Give it some time, you'll be amazed how much you'll pick up over the next few months.

In regards to charging.
Its says to not charge over 1c. So 1c of a 5000mah pack is 5 amps, a 2200 mah pack 1c is 2.2 amps right?

Discharge capability comparison ??

35c 5000mah - 175amps, 28c 5300mah - 148.4amps

Performance wise, what would you expect?

If the C ratings are comparable and your setup can use the extra amps, the 5000mah lipo would outperform the 5200mah lipo. If your setup doesn't need even the 148amps, then performance should be very similar.

How much do you want to spend adam ?

You will probably find that where you are racing has rules on what type of batteries you can run

Cheers

If you even remotely think of getting into 1/8th elect, get a charger that has enough output power to charge the 4S - 6S lipos you'd need to use. There are a lot of cheap 50-watt chargers available thet will charge up to 6S, but at reduced charging current so they can stay within their output power limit. It will take a 50watt charger a lot longer to charge a 6S than a 250+watt charger. Your 30a supply will run even the biggest 350watt chargers.

iCharger offers several models, Hyperion has solid one, Bantam has a few and there are others.
