I have ordered a 11.1v 3s lipo for my radio and was wondering if I need a regulator to use it since my old nicad pack in it is only 9.6v.thnaks for any info:nod:

I've been using a 3300mah 3S Protek lipo in my 3PK for 3yrs this spring. No issues at all. I looked at it yesterday and it was at 12.2v from the last time I charged it about 3weeks ago. 3S fully charged will be 12.6v and mine has not had any probs with the full voltage.

I also run one in an older 3PJS and haven't had probs with it either.

Hey, np, you're welcome. Enjoy the new batt - it really changed the way mine feels and I sure do like how long it lasts between charges.

No, I don't bother. Mine has stayed plugged in all the time (3yrs in Apr or May) except when I was charging the batt. When the 3PK is totally off, there is just no current drain, it really is off.

3PK is not like an esc where the switch just turns off the BEC but leaves the batts still 'on' and draininbg current.

I been running 3s lipo in my 3pk for over a year with no probs. As the guys above have said, it is such an awsome upgrade. I need to only charge once a month.
